NYE 2009

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

image1849815295.jpgWell … Here it is. No plans to do anything tonight. Three kids means going out ain’t ever gonna happen. No matter. We’re having a play on Wii Resort with the little Wii-motion doo-dah.

Then off to the tip to dispose of the Christmas rubbish. Cor, the life I lead!

Peace be the journey,
Till 2010…

Ruby on Christmas morning

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

image407623432.jpgHow posh? She was delightful. Opened one present then just wanted to play with that one. She wasn’t interested - saying that she got a massive haul (more than the rest of is combined).

Sam got his x-box elite 250gb so he is happy. Tom got his iPod touch so he’s happy. I got my espresso machine so I’m happy (and a bit wired)

I’m off work till the 4th Jan (shame!) so will, until then, be mostly playing with toys.

Groovy baby

Christmas Day

Monday, December 28th, 2009

image163218874.jpgAbsolutely the best yet. My mum brother and partner (Holly) came as well as the in-laws. We had a great day too. Check Sam having his hair done at Rubys dressing table!

We leisurely opened the presents (Amanda cried) then went for a drink at the Liberal club in Meltham (don’t ask). Then all back to ours for a frankly excellent Christmas meal. Spicy parsnip soup then the traditional meal - with a choice of ham, turkey or beef.

Followed by drinks and then THE BEST DOCTOR WHO EVER!!! My God, how good??

Then we manfully tried to watch G&S and Catherine Tate but fell asleep.

I spent the night with my Ruby-Loo as Sis-in-law slept with the wife.

All in all a rocking day. All thanks to Amanda and the family.

O no it isn’t!

Christmas Day Out

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

image1672384214.jpgWe had a top day out yesterday. We went to a Christmas day out over in Yorkshire.

First off we all went in a Christmas maze. Me and the boys went bombing off whilst the girls and grandparents followed.

The boys then went on a ski trail (cross country) while we all walked through the Enchanted Forest along side them.

After a hot chocolate we then went Ice-skating (which despite my moaning) was the best part of the day. Dad rocks!

After a loooong queue we saw Father Christmas. Predictably the Rubster flipped and bawled. The boys were ace though. They both reverted to being little kids. I had to tell Santa what they wanted because they were so timid.

I was really impressed with Sam. Being ten I know he doesn’t believe any more but he was really mature and went along with it for the others sake.

It was a really lovely day. Christmas is my favourite time of the year especially with the kids.

It was great to spend a day having fun with Amanda too. Especially as she is going away for the start of next week. She is off to Warrington with work. It’s not very far but she is working late (and being taken out on the Monday). I am not terribly keen on this going away business but she needs to do it for work. I just miss her is all.

Toms birthday

Friday, December 11th, 2009

image1082461350.jpg… Was yesterday. A great time was had by all. We had a party family tea. Pizza, curry and chilli. The curry was HOT! We also met Jules (Lisa-the-Sis-in-law’s) new beau.

He’s a real nice fella too.

Tom had a good birthday (yay) despite it being a school day (boo)

Day off today

Friday, December 4th, 2009

image1359320434.jpgMy mum had a fall earlier in the week and has hurt her ribs. So I’m off today looking after Ruby and ironing.

Lots to fit in though. I’ve just been to the school assembly where BOTH sons got certificates. I’m now stuck in proud dad mode.

Tom got one for being a smiley happy boy. Sams was for his hard work on his home research. Good lads. Terminally proud. I stood up so Tom could see me and tried to get him to do The Robot but he bottled it.

I’m going to do all the ironing then go and visit mum. Then get back to pick the boys up.

Then it’s our works Christmas party. Where (gasp) I shall be wearing a suit. That’s right a suit. Sadly no kilt though.

Such is life.
Easy now!!
